hey souls,
I hope to find well,
here writing you the May newsletter with a week of delay,
we were busy to figure out custom fees problem in the USA!

So let's start with a quick disclaimer about this.
As you know our products are still duty free in the USA, since mainly books, they are also free from last general surcharge 10% active from february, as specified here:
“These are informational materials, not subject to trade remedies, IE Must be excluded from Section 122, Section 232, and Section 301.”
this is obviously 100% verified!
Anyway some extra info to let you know what happened about this:
with all the changes in USA they hired at customs about 1000 new people and they need to check ten times more packages, that unfortunately are not already prepared to all the cases, like the books situation etc. This means that many of them, their fault, have applied 10% custom fees to some package we shipped, and this perchentage of mistakes, after some test was at about 30%!
So we improved our custom invoice with a declaration steatment to try to avoid more this mistake, and by our latest tests this perchentage of mistakes went down to about 5-10%, where they uncorrectly asked 10% of duty to customers. Anyway in your confirmation email there are all the details to dispute them and get a refund if it unfortunately happens, even if it's pretty rare we thought was kind to help you to figure out how to get your money back if it happens.
Anyway, we are also trying to find further solutions to put this margin of error to the 0%, we are working hard on it, don't worry, Hollow Press exists thanks to our customers and we will be always near to them!
